Greetings,

I just finished watching Ms. Momolu on the Monique Show.  I was so excited when I heard that she would be on the show because I loved her on Project Runway.  I loved her not just because of her unique and fresh designs, but also because of her CLASS and DETERMINATION.

I am a military spouse and mother of two children.  My youngest child, Brenae is age 12, is enamored by the world of fashion.  She loves to watch fashion, draw and she aspires to be in the world of fashion some day.  We live on a military base in Japan so there is not much opportunity for her here as an African American youth who weighs 175 lbs.  Needless to say, because of her weight and society no matter what we do her self esteem is really low.  My husband and I encourage her to do well in school and stays focused on her dream and tell her that nothing is impossible.

With that being said, I am writing this letter in hopes that it will reach Ms. Momolu one day.  I APPLAUD her determination, her TENECITY, CLASS, and STYLE.  Ms. Momolu designs with every body type in mind.  Her designs are fresh and much needed in the world of wear as little as possible to look beautiful.  Ms. Momolu’s designs prove that looking beautiful and classy is not about exposing yourself beyond self respect.   After watching her on the Monique Show, my daughter turned to me and said, “mommy maybe one day I can be just like Ms. Momolu”.

Ms. Momolu, keep designing, living your dream and exercising class of pose.  Thank you for being a positive role model to all WOMEN!!!

Korto’s appearance on the Monique show will air on Wednesday April 14th. It’ll be part interview and part presentation. More info here.  Attached is a picture of Team Korto with Monique.

Korto went to Atlanta to tape the Monique show. While there she met and posed with Eva Marcille who was also taping.  Their meeting was featured on YBF.  We will announce the air date. If you’re in Illinois Korto will be at Southern Illinois University on April 13th.

Korto will be giving a talk at Virginia Tech Wednesday March 17. See you there.
